Sacred Heart is ministered by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. The missionary oblates are a religious congregation founded on January 25, 1816 by St. Eugene de Mazenod, a French priest born in the Aix-en-Provence in the south of France. The congregation was given recognition by Pope Leo XII on February 17, 1826. They are comprised of priests and brothers usually living in a community and travel to where people's needs are great often serving those in poor and poverty stricken areas.
