Online Giving
Online Giving offers families flexible, paperless ways to contribute to Our Catholic Appeal, the offertory, special collections, parish pledge campaigns, fees, and more. Today, with more than half of all charitable gifts made online, and an ever-growing number of families managing their personal finances on the Web, Online Giving is no longer just a convenience but a necessity for today’s churches.
We are proud to announce that we will be implementing the convenience of contributing online for offerings to our parish. We hope to have this set up very soon. For now any donation can be presented in person at our parish office.
Regular Offertory
At Sacred Heart we are extremely thankful for our very generous parishioners. Your weekly offertory contributions whether through Online giving, through checks and envelopes, or by dropping cash in the basket, provide the lifeblood of income for our parish. Through our regular offertory we are able to support many ministries and programs in our parish. We are also able to help aide in the overhead costs of our parish, as well as living costs for our priests in residence. It all costs money and your weekly or monthly contributions are what allows us to provide all of this – for you.
Our Catholic Appeal
Our Catholic Appeal is an annual opportunity for every member of our faith family to share in the pastoral work of Christ by funding the important programs and ministries of the Diocese of Oakland.
Bishop Michael C. Barber has chosen "Feed my lambs, feed my sheep" as the theme for the 2022 Bishop’s Appeal.
By sharing your time, talent and treasure with our sisters and brothers and our Church of the East Bay, you are making a sacrifice and returning to God a small portion of the many gifts he has given to you. By embracing Rebuild My Church through the 2021 Bishop’s Appeal, you are contributing greatly to building up the Kingdom of God here in the Church of the East Bay.
While parishes rely on the financial support of parishioners through weekly offertory collections, the diocese also relies on these same parishioners to make possible the many services it provides to thousands of individuals each year. The Bishop’s Appeal supplies annual funding to many ministries which provide services throughout the Diocese of Oakland.
Special Diocesan Collections
As followers of Christ, we are called to share our financial resources with others, especially those most in need. Throughout the year, special needs are placed before the Faithful for their support. Members of our parish should already receive specially marked envelopes for the second collection intended for that weekend.
Altar Flowers
Another special way to make a donation is to make an offering for flowers for Sunday’s celebration of the Eucharist. Your generosity will help to defray the cost to the parish, and our Worship Space will be greatly enhanced.
Christmas/Easter Flowers
During the special seasons of Christmas and Easter, the church uses an abundance of flowers to beautify our church. To this end, we would like to allow parishioners to provide altar flowers through donations. What a wonderful way to remember your loved ones with flowers placed around the altar during the holy season. All donations will bring honor to God through the beauty of his creation.
