St. Eugene de Mazenod is the founder of the Oblates. Please remember all 3500 Oblates in 65 countries around the world.
There will be a special presentation at the Masses on the weekend of Feb. 23-24 celebrating Black History. After the 10 AM Mass this weekend we will have our second meeting about building consensus about the proposal from the Yu Ming Charter School about enlarging the capacity of our school building. We have already had one meeting that dealt with this topic and in this meeting, we hope to pursue the ideas suggested at that meeting. Site plans are on display in the church vestibule that visually capture a draft of the proposal, the school principal, Mrs. Sue Park, will attend the meeting and a representative of the diocese is also invited. There will be time to ask questions of these guests.
A group of our members has volunteered to help feed the homeless. On Tuesday, Feb. 26th, some of our members will prepare and serve a meal at St. Mary's Center for the elderly homeless. Let me thank these members for their generosity of time and resources. May it be one of our ways to face the issue of homelessness in our area.
