On Sunday, September 23rd we will host another one of our famous pancake breakfasts. It is always a delicious event. It will take place after the 7:30 AM Mass and continue until after the 10:00 AM Mass. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Please bring your family and friends, your stomachs will thank you for it!

Sunday Sept 16th Sacred Heart will be celebrating Mexican Cultural Heritage Day at the 10:00 AM Mass. This is an opportunity to recognize one of our cultures and celebrate as they would in their tradition. The mass will be infused with many aspects of Hispanic culture. This day also happens to coincide with Mexican Independence Day. Independence Day celebrates the day Miguel Hidalgo is believed to have made the cry of independence (El Grito de la Independencia) in the town of Dolores, in the north-central part of the Mexican state of Guanajuato. Hidalgo was one of the nation’s leaders during the War of Independence in Mexico. Although there is no scholarly agreement on what was exactly said by Hidalgo, his speech also known as the cry of Dolores (el Grito de Dolores), was made on September 16, 1810 to motivate people to revolt against the Spanish regime. Hidalgo’s army fought against the Spanish soldiers in the fight for independence, but he was captured and executed on July 30, 1811. Mexico's independence was not declared until September 28, 1821. Saturday, September 22nd, The Sacred Heart Prayer Group will be hosting a casino bus trip to Feather Falls & Thunder Valley Casino Resort. Tickets are $35.00 per person a which includes a $20.00 casino and food voucher. Breakfast is provided on the way up.
