In 1996 Sacred Heart School closed and our school site became part of the new St. Martin de Porres school, a  multi parish school.  For over 20 years St. Martin de Porres has served our community, both parish and the wider neighborhood.  In recent years the enrollment has dropped and expenses have risen.  At this time the diocese of Oakland can no longer give finances to our school, therefore, the bishop has decided that St. Martin de Porres is one of five elementary schools that the diocese has decided to close as of the end of this school year.  The diocese and the staffs of these school will work hard to find places for our students in other Catholic school.  At this time of transition please pray for the gift of discernment by everyone concerned.

We offer our prayers and support to the Bell family, Oberian Bell Sr., father of Tamara Murray passed January 9th. The family is preparing for Oberian’s service to be held on Friday, January 20th at Holy Sepulchre Mortuary, 26329 Mission Blvd., Hayward. Viewing will begin at 9:00a and service will be at 11:00a.

With joyful hearts we welcome the Lawson-Hellu Family, Pauline, Joel, Godwin, Gloria, and Jerome who were baptized on Sunday, January 1, 2017, into our house of prayer to celebrate the gift of life and special faith we share.

We offer our prayers and support to the Moore family, Mavis Moore, sister-in-law of Olga Moore passed from illness on Monday, December 26th. The family is preparing for Mavis' service to be held on Saturday, January 14th.
