We are fast approaching the Holiday Season and the beginning of the "Giving Tree Program". We are again fortunate to have been adopted for this program by another Parish in the Diocese of Oakland. The Giving Tree Program is when one parish adopts another parish in the diocese and provides Christmas gifts to individuals or families who may not otherwise receive gifts for one reason to another. The only requirements are that recipients are members of Sacred Heart Parish or their family members and the items requested be to fulfill a need not to be an extravagant wish i.e. flat screen TV, microwave oven, cell phone, computer, or high end clothing. We will be given a limited number of applications this year and a shorter time to submit the applications, so we are going to try something a little different.

Prior to receiving the applications from the other Parish we will have a sign-up list on a first come first serve basis. Please call the parish office and speak to Tamara (510-655-9209), leave a message on the answering machine with your name, telephone number and reference Giving Tree Application. Your call will be returned to confirm you have been placed on the list. Once the applications are received she will call you to come in and complete the application or assist you by filling it out over the telephone. All information provided is for office use only and will be kept private.

We anticipate applications to be given to Sacred Heart no later than September 14, 2018. They must be returned to the parish office no later than October 18, 2018. No applications will be accepted after the deadline date. You will be notified by phone of your scheduled pick-up time beginning December 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM.
